You have 60 to 90 seconds and one job: hand the room one thing they can use on their next client. This walks you from blank page to a topic and an outline in about five minutes.
1
Pick the part of extensions you could talk about all day
Not your whole skill set. The one corner where you have opinions.
2
Now, what do you do differently?
This is where your topic actually lives. Answer whichever one lands. Nobody sees this but you.
Tap whichever answer you want to teach. It drops into the box below.
my corners are crispy and clean becomes crispy, clean cornershow i get my corners to lay flat becomes corners that lay flat
Your titles will look like this
Or borrow one of these instead:
3
Pick the angle that sounds like you
Same subject, six different ways in. Tap one to build it out, or reshuffle for a new set.
4
Shape it into 90 seconds
Rough is fine. This is scaffolding, not a script you have to read word for word.
What you said upstairs
0:00 to 0:10Hook. Name the problem out loud.
0:10 to 0:20Why it matters. What it costs when it goes wrong.
0:20 to 1:05The teach. Two steps, three at the absolute most.
1:05 to 1:30The takeaway. One sentence they can repeat back.
This is what goes on your registration form and your speaker graphic.
If you cannot finish this sentence, the topic is still too broad. Cut it in half.
Three steps is the ceiling. If you need four, you have two videos, not one.
Word count: 0. Aim for 150 to 220 spoken words.
Before you hit record
60 to 90 seconds, pre recorded. No live attendance required.
Filmed landscape, 1920x1080. Horizontal, not vertical.
One tip, technique, or piece of education. No selling and no pitching.
Due October 1 to info@justahairdresser.com via Google Drive or Dropbox.
Good light on your face and clean audio beat fancy editing every single time.
