In 2017, I went all-in on my extension business. I was in love with my sales (it was the most money I had ever made) but my business was losing money and I was burnt the F out. I quickly realized that extensions were a "higher maintenance" service and after a few months, I was ready to throw in the towel and go back to my color-only clientele.
But there was one thing stopping me... the confidence I felt in my new 22" extensions. I wanted more women to feel the way I did. So, I started developing systems and processes so I didn't have to spend my nights and weekends replying to DMs, showing new extension clients how to brush and curl their hair, and so on. Once I ditched what a "method" told me to charge and dug into MY numbers and what it cost to run MY business, I was able to be profitable.
